Dear Friends,
On June 24, 2010, my life as a Detroit Police Officer came to a crashing halt. My partner and I were responding to
an armed robbery in progress. As we were getting closer to the scene, a beer distributor truck pulled out in front of
us and stopped. We crashed head on into the back of the truck at about 70 mph. The engine block of our Ford Crowns
Victoria ended up in my lap.

I sustained a crushed pelvis, and hip, all my ribs were broken, and worst of all,
my right tibia had been crushed, and causing the nerve that controls my foot movement to be severed. The doctors thought
it would take at least a year before I would ever walk again, and there was a very good possibility that I would never
regain movement in my right foot. My life had been turned upside down. I was a very active police officer assigned to the
Special Operations Unit, a very elite, plainclothes assignment. I went from "running east between the houses" after the
worst of the worst criminal to lying in a hospital bed in critical care for weeks. After a month of at home rehabilitation,
I was in a wheelchair, and then a walker. I was getting rides three times a week to therapy and was a prisoner in my own home,
relying on strangers to take me to the doctors. My husband was so busy with work and my needs that I didn't have the heart to
ask him to drive me anywhere.
After a couple of more months, I was walking with a cane, but still trapped in my own home. That's when I began my research.
I knew that there had to be others out there that were in the same situation as I was in. And there was.
My internet searches lead me to PLFA. I wrote Becky and explained my situation. She called me the next day and explained
to me how the PLFA worked. She was so wonderful and so sympathetic with my situation and helped me make the decisions to
purchase the apparatus. The box came, literally two days later! It took my husband five minutes to set it up in my Nissan
Maxima. I drove around the block, at first. I was like a kid with a new bike. I learned to use my left foot to drive in
about ten minutes. It's crazy how the brain is able to adapt. The next day, I went shopping! After that, I would just get
in the car just to get house and drive! I finally had my independence back!
I can't begin to tell you how getting in the car and driving whenever I wanted to, not only gave me my independence back, but
brought me out of a deep depression and literally gave me my life back. On December 21, 2010, I was promoted to Sergeant and
am back working four hours a day (until I'm able to work 8) in charge of another Special Operations Unit! I will probably never
be full duty again, and will probably always walk with a cane, and my right leg will probably always be paralyzed from the knee
down. But with the PLFA, I will ALWAYS be able to do ANYTHING I want to do and go ANYWHERE I want to go.
THANK YOU PLFA, not only for inventing your fabulous product allowing me to drive, but also for your sincere concern during my recovery.

I received my PLFA today. What a pleasure it was to drive my car for the first time since Dec. 2009.
YOU made it possible. Thank you so much. I will spread the news. My physical therapist has already
inquired about the device so he can recommend it for some of his other patients... Again, thanks.

Though I regret my losses, I am thankful for all that I have. Life goes on and so shall I. I will look back
only to see how far I've come and be proud of my progress.

Dear Becky and Mike,
I have used your left foot accelerator for 3 weeks now and I want to express my appreciation to you
for developing and selling this device. It works just great. I have had no problems with it at all, I just
put it in place and drove
away. I broke my right leg 4 weeks ago and I can not put any weight on it for
another 8 weeks. Without your device, I
would be completely immobilize.
